No trouble to edit Flip/ Kodak/ JVC video in iMovie

iMovie is an excellent video editing software application which was released by Apple in 1999. And since version 3, iMovie has been a Mac OS X only application bundled in the iLife suit of Macintosh applications. With iMovie, Mac OS X users can edit the video clips, add titles, and add music. Effects including basic color correction, video enhancement tools and transitions such as fade-in, fade-out as well as slides.

iMovie enable Mac users to create and edit their own family video, and because of the rich editing functions, iMovie gains much love from Mac users.

Those who have fun from taking shooting and recording happy moment of their life time with a handy camcorder such as brand Flip, Kodak, JVC, etc also expect to edit their cam-recorders with iMovie on Mac. However, difficulties arise when attempt to import clipss from Flip, Kodak, or JVC camcorder to iMovie for further editing and modifying.

As a matter of fact, iMovie limits its accepted video to MP4, MPEG-4, MOV, AVI,etc. Videos from JVC camcorder are in MOD or TOD format, which is totally refused by iMovie. Although clips from Kodak camcorder such as Kodak Zi8, Kodak playsport, Kodak Playtouch are in MOV or MP4 format and shootings from Flip camcorder such as Flip Mino HD, Flip Slide HD, Flip Ultra are in MP4 format which seems to be able to support by iMovie, the result often fails to import them to iMovie.

Then how to avoid the above troubles and have fun from editing JVC/Flip/Kodak video on iMovie?

The answer is simple: converting video to iMovie, that is to say, change JVC video to iMovie, turn Flip video to iMovie, transfer Kodak video to iMovie.
